This study examines the shifting role of academic libraries in the context of increasing digitalization and
changing user expectations. Using data collected from 160 respondents and analyzed through SPSS
version 30.0, the research explores patterns of library usage, preferences for physical versus digital
resources, and perceptions of emerging technologies. The findings indicate that while traditional
services such as borrowing physical books and using libraries as study spaces remain significant, there
is a strong preference for hybrid access models that blend both physical and digital resources. A majority
of participants agree that smart technologies and digital tools enhance the relevance of libraries in the
modern academic environment. Users also support the idea of transforming libraries into modern,
collaborative spaces that use technology and encourage innovation. The study shows that academic
libraries need to change by adding smart facilities, improving digital services, and creating inclusive,
flexible spaces that meet the changing needs of their users.
