Al2O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized using sol-gel method. The structures of Al2O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) study. The morphology of nanoparticles was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. The FE-SEM images showed that most of the nanoparticles obtained for Al2O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles have spherical shape with a particle size of 14 nm and 43 nm for Al2O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles respectively. The absorption spectra of Al2O3 and TiO2 nanoparticles suspended in deionized water were recorded at room temperature using UV-visible spectroscopy. The absorption spectra show a strong peak at 344 nm and 483 nm for Al2O3 and TiO2 respectively. The results on absorption spectra are in good agreement with those investigated by XRD which confirmed the formation of Al2O3 and TiO2.
