One Step Hydrothermal Synthesis of Nanostructured VO2(B) for Photocatalytic Application

This paper reports the one step hydrothermal synthesis of VO2(B) at high temperature in 24 h by using citric acid monohydrate as reducing agent and vanadium pentoxide as vanadium source. The phase of synthesized material is confirmed by XRD and indexed by JCPDS card. XRD results favors for pure phase of VO2(B). For confirmation of chemical composition vibrational bands FTIR is performed. For finding optical band gap, Tauc calculation has be done from UV-Vis spectroscopy. Photocatalytic activity is performed under UV radiation for 180 min. SEM and EDX is also performed for morphology and confirmation of elemental composition.
